Studios on the Park is set to present a solo art exhibition titled “Memoria Disfrazada” featuring ceramicist Michelle Solorzano. The exhibition will be held during the month of February in the Atrium Gallery of Studios on the Park.
The exhibition will explore how identity and history are shaped through experiences of colonization and immigration. Drawing inspiration from Dominican Carnaval– a space where celebration and critique coexist, Solorzano reimagines the mask as both protection and revelation. Her work questions who controls historical narratives and whose stories are remembered or obscured. In response to the current political climate, Solorzano’s body of work reflects on what is hidden, what is performed, and what endures. The public is invited to the opening reception on February 7th from 6-9pm.
In conjunction with the exhibition, Studios on the Park will host a free presentation featuring Solorzano and Alecia Teague, owner of The Pottery. The two accomplished ceramic artists will discuss how their passion for pottery extends beyond the studio. This presentation will be held on January 31st from 5-6pm at Studios on the Park.
