Opportunities

  • In Person

    • Paperwork
      Filing, scanning, and shredding papers

    • Organizing
      Assist with office organization at The Bunker

    Virtual

    • Community Calendar Assistance
      Research upcoming events in San Luis Obispo County and add them to our community calendar

    • Graphic Design
      Create infographics and flyers for our upcoming events

    • Promotional Assistance
      Alert the Arts Council of unique promotional opportunities throughout San Luis Obispo County

  • In Person - day of event

    • Set Up
      Occurs 1-2 hours prior to an event

    • Clean Up
      Occurs the hour after an event

    • Transport Supplies
      Assist with transporting supplies from our office to an event, or vice versa.

    • Front Table Assistance
      Check in attendees and notify them of any present raffle and donation opportunities

    In Person - prior to event

    • Prepare Signs
      Printing, chopping, and pasting printed materials

    • Distribute Flyers
      Pick up a stack of flyers from our office to distribute.
      Locations will be provided, but you are welcome to share the flyers wherever you have in mind as well.
      Printed flyers, tacks, and tape will be provided.

  • In Person

    • Tabling Assistant
      Join an Arts Council member for tabling at local events such as the beloved SLO Farmer’s Market.
      Socialize with the community and assist in promoting our upcoming events and opportunities.

    • Distribute Flyers
      Pick up a stack of flyers from our office to distribute.
      Locations will be provided, but you are welcome to share the flyers wherever you have in mind as well.
      Printed flyers, tacks, and tape will be provided.

    • Review An Event
      Attend of an event of ours, and then send a short description of your experience along with any photos or videos you captured.
      Email office@slocountyarts.org or DM @slocounty_arts with your submission.

    • Translation services
      Be a translator for a non-English speaker, deaf, or hard-of-hearing artists and attendees at an event.

    • Social Media
      Share our upcoming event(s) in your store front or on your platform and tag us so we can return the favor!

  • In Person

    • Judge for Poetry Out Loud
      The SLO County Poetry Out Loud Competition typically takes place during the first week of February each year.

    Virtual

    • Judge art show submissions
      We often partner with local groups and organizations to host local art shows. Sit on the jury to help determine which works will be selected.

    • Be an OSAT artist mentor
      Be a point of contact for artists who are new to the Open Studios Art Tour.

Through our volunteer program we aim to connect with attendees and artists who hold interest in being involved with the San Luis Obispo County art community beyond events. It is our hope through volunteering with
the Arts Council that you will gain experience in skills that interest you, increase your visibility within the art community, and grow your
personal rapport with artists and supporters around the county.
