October 10-11 and October 17-18, 2026
Both Weekends Countywide

About OSAT

The San Luis Obispo County Open Studios Art Tour, a program of SLO County Arts Council, takes place each year over two weekends in October, National Arts and Humanities Month. Free to the public, fine artists and crafters open their studios to showcase their art and share their processes. Visitors create their own self-guided tours using the catalog of participating artists.

FAQs for Visitors

  • Open Studios Art Tour allows artists the chance to display a majority of their work in one place. Visiting studios during the tour gives you the chance to interact with artists on an intimate level and go deeper into their process. As one past participant put it, “the Open Studios Art Tour is the one time people from across the county come into my art space and view my creative process for themselves, allowing me to closely connect with those that make my art their own.”

  • The 2026 Open Studios Art Tour will take place over the weekends of October 10-11 and October 17-18. Both weekends will be countywide, and artist studios will be open from 10am to 4pm.

  • To help visitors plan their route, the catalog contains color indicators that show if an artist’s studio is open on the first, second, or both weekends. All artists on the tour are required to be open from 10am to 4pm.

  • We create digital maps via Storymaps that will be linked on the Open Studios Art Tour website in advance of the tour weekends in fall. The catalog also lists the complete street address for each artist studio, so you can plug it into the navigation app or device of your choice!

  • We recommend leaving your pets at home. Studios are filled with breakables and valuable art and many artists may not allow your pet inside.

Catalog FAQs

  • The 2026 catalog is estimated to be available by early September.

  • The Open Studios Art Tour catalog is always free, whether accessing it online or grabbing a physical copy.

  • No, we are currently unable to ship catalogs. You can get one for free online or at one of the locations listed in advance of the tour each year.

  • Artists are listed by region and city. There is also an index of artists by medium at the end of the catalog along with a section where you can make notes of which studios you’re interested in visiting.

Maps are available after the artist listings as a visual aid to get a better idea of studio locations in relation to each other. We recommend using a navigation tool or app to guide yourself to each studio. (Tip: We always update this webpage during the tour weekends with a Google Map that features all artist locations!)
